Legal Obligations

There is a range of current and proposed legislation aimed at reducing the environmental impact of products affecting companies producing electronics. The legislation directly affects those companies manufacturing, importing, exporting and distributing electronics products, but there are also implications for supply chain companies e.g. those supplying materials, components or sub-assemblies to electronics producers.

The legislation also relates to companies providing waste electronics recovery for reuse, remanufacture, recycling or disposal. The  legislation brings challenges and opportunities for the Irish electronics sector. Details of current and proposed legislation  can be found in our Reducing the Environmental Impact of Products Guide and in our WEEE and RoHS publications section.

Industrial Examples
